SoR 9922 – Community Programme Update

Since it was founded in 2016, one of Spirit of Rugby Lodge’s prime objectives has been to reach out to the Kent Rugby Community. The funding of initiatives to promote school and club rugby for children and young adults is one of the Lodge’s main aims.
See: http://freemasonsrugby.com/community/

The 2018/19 Season has seen the programme reach new heights and allowed the Lodge to establish working relationships with local Rugby Clubs.

Folkestone RFC

On the 30th March 2019 Worshipful Master Robert Mitchell and a team of Lodge members paid a visit to Folkestone RFC to watch their match against rivals Crowborough. They joined host Ivor Spencer and 130 other diners for a pre-match luncheon, before making a donation of £200 to assist with the purchase of much needed equipment for the Club’s Under 8’s side.

Thanet Wanderers RFC

A week later Matt Jury and Bill Higgins (I’m beginning to see a pattern here…. Ed) went along to Thanet Wanderers RFC in Broadstairs where Spirit of Rugby Lodge No 9922 was the Match Ball Sponsor for their 1st XV Match against Old Cofeians RFC

You can read Senior Warden Matt Jury‘s accounts of these visits by visiting the East Kent Provincial site at …
